Villagers currently have to travel to other cities to have cows butchered, as there are no butcher shops within Shigamani. Unfortunately, funerals are very common in these communities, and tradition calls for the butchering of a cow during these events. The same is true for weddings, where it is customary to butcher a cow as part of the celebration. Establishing a local butchery will not only create jobs but also meet a real need within Shigamani and the surrounding villages.

The butchery is part of our broader Entrepreneurship Program. In addition to addressing a local need, we are cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset, as businesses in this area are typically not run by individuals from the village. By empowering them, we help build their confidence and belief in their ability to become self-sustaining.

We will build a separate facility for the butchery to meet hygiene and food safety standards. Your financial involvement will help secure the construction of this new facility and play a role in transforming the future of Shigamani Village.
